Under 14 Match Report: North Ringwood Black v Eastern Lions
A return to Donvale this week in warm sunny conditions with wind favouring the southern end.
Made a good start, the pre game nerves gone, kicking 2 goals to 3 points in the opening quarter against the wind. 2nd quarter with the wind was a stunner ending with EL 6.2 to NR 1.6.
With the wind advantage North Ringwood came back hard in the 3rd quarter, which ended with the Saints trailling by just 5 points, while we did not score.
Two goals by Tyson & Zac early in the 4th quarter, with the saints scoring only points, turned the momentum. The continued to be played hard throughout the final quarter. With both sides tiring but still fighting, Chris kicked a long goal in the 2nd half of the 4th quarter to lock in the win.
Jimmy, Zac & Jarren were inspiring with their efforts in and around the packs & Chris' marks and kicking were back to his best.
Positives: The whole team worked hard - not once did the coach ask :where are our onballers?. Kept our heads up after the Saints drew within striking distance after the 3rd quarter.
Negatives: Although out of our control, injuries to Lachy & Jimmy during the final 10 minutes. |
