What is rostered football?

The term "rostered football" is used to describe fielding a different team each match day. A club with more than 24 players in a given team has to choose which 24 will play in each match each weekend. Clubs with more than 24 players in a team have to force some players to sit out each week. Those players who are not on the roster that week don't get to play a single quarter. EFL policy permits up to 30 players per team but still requires that only 24 are present each match day so upto 6 players in each team can miss a game each week.
At the Eastern Lions Junior Football Club we have a policy that prevents this from occurring. We will not allow players to join the club if it causes a team to exceed 24 players. It is a difficult policy to administer as we have to turn late players away but this is done in the interests of the existing team members and makes complete sense for a junior club. If you want to play every week and you are looking at different teams in the area then be sure to check out their policy around maximum team sizes. Alternatively you can just join our team and you won't be dissapointed when we make the finals :)
